Guild First: Neighbourhood Winter Veil Party

What’s the word that strikes fear into the heart of the socially anxious? – party time obviously, but Paranoid knows how to throw a different kind of party, one where people like us can have a good time πŸ™‚ And where better than to throw the event in our own private game space – The Anxious Isle!

In which Selrena proves they really should have added lights in their player house… /cough and some folks strut their stuff in winter veil duds, having dressed for the occasion πŸ™‚

For the first half hour we did ‘human darts’. Jadzia was particularly proud of this particular landing as you can see.

We switched at one point from the marked X, to a bucket of wine, and there was a lot of laughter as folks kept landing in the boat, or failing to actually go splat as cloaks kicked in and lives were saved. And then almost everyone wished they hadn’t been having quite so much fun when the repair will kicked in… (should have gone naked)

Which funnily enough came up in the next activity – duelling with a spin the bottle type challenge. We had ‘fighting naked’, ‘fighting with the UI turned off’ and other such shenanigans. Eleanorah was a good sport and fought both guild tanks (Tyr and Selrena) in separate challenges, before laughing and saying that if she had to duel again, please no more tanks (apparently we’re too mighty haha).

After a quick break we headed over to the cool stage area blizz had made, near the town, for a trivia contest. Eleanorah totally deserves the ‘loremaster’ title by ping, ping, pinging their way to victory with a remarkable number of points.

We finally ended the ‘official’ part of the evening with hide and seek, which I do not have any pictures of because people were hiding. Also many lessons were learned, like maybe make the seeking area smaller, and maybe don’t make Selrena one of the seekers (spoiler alert I was terrible at it – seriously I actually walked over people and didn’t see them, it was kinda hilarious).

Anyway it was a hell of a night! A real success and definitely something we want to do again. Having the guild neighbourhood is such a boon for these kind of events BUT the night wasn’t over yet. We did like an ‘after party’ thing bringing back a classic – the running of the gnomes.

Melraven’s rolled Gnome – Paranoid – won the race, which just put a seal on a spectacular evening. In which Paranoid won, and I really feel the entire guild won. Fantastic time. I’m so grateful to everyone who came, it was so full of good vibes. Paranoid really has the best members!

Paranoid was the winner – in all ways haha
